Hey Everybody,
Hard to believe that week 12 is already here, 3 months done at the end of this week! Last week was a busy one and this week seems to be double the load of last week. Here is an approximation of what Ryan's day is like:
3:55 am wake, shower, shave, dress and make bed perfectly...bounce a quarter and all that.
4:30 am be in line for PT that begins at 4:45
4:45-6:30 am non-stop PT
6:30- 7:10 am shower, dress in complete cadet uniform, eat breakfast, get ready for am classes
Ryan's typical breakfast on the diet table: plain oatmeal/grits, non-fat yogurt, mixed fruit, powerade
7:30 am classes
11:45 am lunch: baked chicken/fish, brown rice and vegetables
12:00 pm classes
4:45 pm dinner: baked chicken/fish, brown rice, vegetables
5:30 pm night classes
8:30 pm back to dorm room to study, do homework, polish brass on belt, polish boots, iron uniform shirt and PT t-shirt for the next day, clean gun, call Amy
- no calls after 9pm
11:00 pm lights out
If you have unfinished tasks you will be in the bathroom with a flashlight until they are completed as lights out is strictly adhered to.
As you can see the pressure on these cadets is great. With night classes now in full effect finding time to study for the many tests each week is difficult. Sleep deprivation is another difficult part of the academy and will continue to get worse. Week 12 is a very busy week for Ryan with another round of PMA certification, high speed and several reports due and tests this week. I know that he is counting the hours until liberty tomorrow night...as am I.
Ryan shaved his head into a mohawk just for the weekend - you may be able to see it in his pic.
Love,
Amy
